Orange ordered line test no fault found
I have just received my 2nd livebox and have almost the same problem as you. Flashing red light. Broadband down etc etc..
This happens on both of my liveboxes, but, I can connect with my own netgear router. I recommend you try a different router and see if it will detect the broadband link.
I am not sure where to go from here as obviously want the livebox working.
@ UKBadboy.- you seem to be using a livebox 1.2 or livebox mini.
What the others have suggested is gret provided u can arrange for another router. Alternatively u could also try ur livebox at a friend's place.Either ways, it will give you an answer. And if the livebox is indeed a faulty one. Then ask them to replace it.
Why?? Becoz the other router works on Orange line..which indicates the line is very capable of receiving adsl signals.
if they have already replaced it, then they need to ask the engineers to check the line irrespective of the line test results (if they say there is no fault found on line). Now for this - someone might need to own your issue. I dont see this going anywhere if someone doesnt do this for u. Good luck.
Oh yes!! and u could also try the test socket (if u havent done it). Look at the BT socket. if it splits inbetween then u will two screws. - one on each side. Unscrew them>> on the right hand side, u will find a socket inside. This is called an engineer's socket. Using this socket disables all other sockets in house. so if it works here then issue could be internal. Again, an engineer intervention might be necessary.
the livebox is set to work with Orange and not other isp's. There is supposed to be a workaround to remove this restriction, but I have yet to see it, so in my opinion if you tried to use it to connect to another isp it would not work

I have had 4 days broadband in 18 days, orange say it is a common fault and have changed my password 4 times with no effect, they do not have a clue why. All I get is Invalid ADSL authentication it has now gone to the top team for sorting, how are they at Ballamory I think a bunch of 5 year olds could do better meanwhile no broadband except the internet everywhere if it ever connects as the coverage here in west London is very poor.
Anyone else had this problem, I am going to pester them every day if I have to .

Where can I go from here?
I am having the exact same problem, have been since December 09/ Have had another live box sent to me (old version) and this one turns itself off after an hour of doing sod all.
I have had 6 call backs from 2nd level support and still no joy.
They have changed my password
ceased then reprovided my line
changed filters
done line tests
and it STILL shows Invalid ADSL authentication
I am going to call them back again and ask for a livebox 1.2 to be sent out to me to try that.
I know exactly what the fault is and why it is happening, your broadband account can ONLY be logged into 1 place at 1 time, further attempts to log in will show Invalid ADSL authentication. Someone, somewhere is logged in with my details.
You used to be able to do multiple user log ins untill December 09 when FSD changed a setting at there end. If they changed it back then this would resolve the problem as Orange have NO WAY of detecting where your login is being used. They can search through every ADSL number in their database, but that would take forever and a day
