Many thanks for the reply
In the end I changed the router as I think it was faulty and got a netgear N Wireless in its stead and that worked as the set up said it should

Hi! I use a lot of Belkin equipment on numerous Oraneg BB DSL installations and they all (but one) work perfectly. Im glad you now have resolved your problem but if anyone else has an issue with Belkin kit then send me a message and I will try and help.
However, I do have an issue with a DSL installation in the London area. After much messing about and toing and froing with Orange I decided to isolate the issue. It started as generally good performance but some web sites were timing out or simply unavailable. One of these was microsoft.com and anotehr was apple.com. So doing updates and getting my wifes iTouch to work was somewhat difficult.
We have a variaty of OS from linux, Mac, Vista, XP, Windows mobile and many different browsers. All gave the same problems. BUT ... when I take the laptops onto other networks they work fine.
The problem had to be physical line, orange services or my router.
Orange have failed over a number of months to supply their Livebox so I have been using a Belkin. I sawpped this over with another DSL modem/Router from another place. Reset all the settings in accordance with the recomendations from Orange Tech support. NO CHANGE!
I checked the physical line connection a number of ways and it looked fine. Noise levels were acceptable. Line speeds were stable and acceptable. Direct IP connections were reliable and OK speed.
I then switched to put in hard coded IP addresses for Orange DNS. I tried both sets and neither made any difference. Given the nature of the problem I then hard coded the DNS of OpenDNS. Hey, surprise, the connectivity was working reliably across all the domains that had not been working before.
So, my obvious deduction is that the issue is with regads to teh DNS from Orange. if anyone else has a similar problem can you let me know how you have resolved the issue.
Orange have tried to blame Microsoft, Belkin, etc etc. they have still not provided their Lvebox. They promissed on numerous occassions to call me back but I have NEVER received a call back.
So, the second question is has anyone had similar issues with a technically incompetent Orange technical supporta and the dreadful custoemr service. If so, how did you get it resolved.
