Can anyone please shed some light on my problem. I just switched to Home Max (Orange took over my fixed line from BT).
Now when callers try to leave a message on my local answer machine they get reply “Sorry, Call Minder is full. It can’t take your message now…” – then busy tone.
I am sure there is nothing wrong with the phone/answer m/c!
OK mystery solved. Orange put me on BT Call Minder answering service (dial 1571). Messages were diverted to this service and my ans mc was denied any recording. I have to get the 1571 service disabled. Hey Ho..
After 3 emails and 2 phone calls still not resolved. I never get a reply to an email other than to say "phone the support number". last phone call promised to remove the call minder feature within 2 days.
10 days later still not removed. I don't even know if this will solve the problem.

This is breach of contract >>

A contract is a verbal agreement between two parties.
Send a recorded letter to head office claiming and describing the breach of contract and request a MAC code with no subsequent cancellation charges.
after one months phoning and waiting I finally got this sorted...
this is how it works:
1) call the support number - Delhi or wherever the Indian call centre is.
2) do not let them say they will attend to the matter. They won't and in my case didn't have a clue about what my problem was.
3) Insist on being transferred to a European answering dept. Probably Ireland.
4) Describe problem and INSIST on a reference number.
this solved my problem in 2 days.
it seems to me that the Indian call centre contributes greatly to Oranges problems.
