Hi my internet keeps going slow then stops working alltogether this happens all the time now you cannot even watch iplayer as the speed is that slow I use wifi to my livebox and when I check the connection it goes from computer to livebox then gateway to internet the problem seems to be at the gateway to internet. Every thing use to work fine but now its a nightmare any one got any ideas
run vista on computer have checked previous threads but still cannot find out what has happend

Does it happen all the time or just at various times of the day ? - if it's in the evening, it could explain a few things (peak time etc...).
It happens all the time this is the 3rd attempt to reply as it keeps going off read somewhere that it is the gateway which is causing the trouble but i cannot disable that. Strengh is excellent to livebox but connection to internet is a no go and when I am connected the speed is so slow I would be lucky to get a download speed of 25 kbs
Would it have anything to do with the gateway as I cannot remember seeing that before will check but I think it is ip stream
it has only been like this for a couple of weeks use to be good before that
Then afterwards if you have a NTE5 main BT linebox with a removable lower section, plug the router into the test socket inside but wait 5 minutes between disconnecting and replugging.
EDIT : Hang on a minute !.......your attenuation has dropped from 47dB to 26dB....that's not right unless there's something seriously wrong on the line between you and the exchange. The dropping SNRM I would expect because your sync is improving but the attenuation should remain the same.

This one was taken this morning as could not get back on internet last night said line down. The problem is from the gateway to the internet not from the livebox to the gateway is there supposed to be a gateway there is that part of the livebox
trying for a line check but keeps saying wrong login name will have to look into it
It's your broadband username that the speedtester uses eg yourname.wanadoo.co.uk@fs
From those latest stats it looks like you're back to a normal connection except the attenuation has dropped another 2dB to 24dB and the SNRM is still high at 15.3dB

seems strange that this starts to happen after BT phone and ask if I want to change to there broadband as Im not under contract but then again stranger things happen
