Signed up with Freeserve, many moons ago. We were happy.
They turned into Wanadoo. We were still happy.
Then Orange came along. For a time, we were happy, until they offered us this talk package, which NEVER worked, despite multiple tech support calls.
Anyway, this was the reason we wanted to quit, along with the fact that o2 (now Sky) were offering MUCH cheaper broadband (we were still paying nearly £30 a month). Anyway, my mother phoned them up to get the MAC key (she's the account holder) and they managed to persuade us to stay by slashing our monthly bill and giving us unlimited 8mb broadband.
For a few days, things were fine, until yesterday when I noticed that web pages were taking a while to load. I shrugged it off at first, but later that day, it was still behaving very slowly. I hoped that it would be gone today, but it isn't. My web speeds and download speeds are awful. Before, I could download at up to 500 kbps on a good day, and I'm currently downloading a file which is fluctuating between 5 and 15 kbps. I haven't had speeds that bad since we were on dial-up.
I've checked all the connections, I've scanned my computer to make sure there's nothing that could be slowing it down, and I can't see anything that could cause this. Is this likely to be Orange doing something to our account? If so, is it only going to be temporary? It better f****** not be, because they've coaxed us into signing another 12 month contract, and if this is the average speed were getting, I'm going to tell them exactly how I feel.
Sorry, I'm writing more in anger than anything else, I wish we'd have gone with o2 (now Sky)! Thanks for reading...
Hi there Plusi, I work for Orange and might be able to help.
Please send an email to customer.services@orange.co.uk, including your personal contact details and username from this site, and I will give you a call to discuss.
In order that your email is forwarded to me quickly, please add "Jonathan Orange Response" in the subject field and also in the first line of your mail.
To see how bad Orange can get, see my thread on link below :

Take my advice and leave Orange, they are better providers out there that won't lie to you about what the problem is.
