We had a letter from Orange yesterday informing us that our package (RETENTION: 9.79 a month, equivalent of Home Starter valid for 12 months expiring March 2010) was no longer available and that we would be transferred to Home Select at 19.57 a month.
My wife and I can't afford to increase our package by 50% considering we don't require such an advanced package. I have several questions, which I hope you can answer before I contact Orange soon:
1. Orange are still advertising the Home Starter package on their website, so why are they detailing it as no longer available?
2. Am I entitled to cancel my contract with no charges under the terms and conditions concerning the fact that they are forcing me to take on a different contract from the one I agreed?
3. Am I entitled to cancel my contract with no charges since as point 11.8 outlines 'There is an excessive increase in the charges or changes we alter'?
Please can you help and offer me any good advice that maybe necessary in cancelling for free with this poor internet provider?
Got the seem letter today mate what a bloody cheek I struggle to make 2 Meg anyway. Will defo give Orange the boot now but my contract expires in January so i have the questions as you. What have you found out please ? Anyone else had this letter ?
