I am thinking of buying the dongle. Will be doing a lot of travellling. I will have an account here in the UK, but do not want to pay roaming charges for the foreign country (£6 a MB).
Can I just connect with it to any Orange mobile network? Orange mobiles work well in the country i am going to ... but their support is appalling and they have no clue about anything like this.
So do I just buy a dongle and put in a local chip and go? Or am I missing something here?
Problem is that if you put a local chip in the device its highly likely that it will see it as another networks and the usb "dongle" (shudder at that word) will think "hey, im locked mate, put an Orange uk sim in me or im not doing anything." In fact im pretty damn sure that this will happen cos the foreign sim will have a number on it that doesn't start with 894412 as all Orange uk sims do.
