I have a PS3 which is connected to my livebox along with my vista laptop.
During the day my connection is great and when playing games such as call of duty on my PS3 i always have a 3/4 bar connection
Unfortunately every night at about 7 o clock until midnight i cannot join any games or connect to any games on my ps3.
I hav run connection speed tests using www.speedtester.BT.com and using the lovebox configuration page both displaying that I have around a 3000kbps downstream and 440 upstream IN THE DAY AND THE NIGHT.
To be honest my internet connection on my laptop is fine in the evening, it justs affects my ps3.
My opinion - I am not a tech expert but when you browse the internet on a PC you are not always sending and recieveing packets. However when gaming you are constantly sending and receiving packets and my ping in the evening is quite high.
I reckon when so many people are using the internet (in the evening when everyone is home from work , school , etc sending and receiving packets becomes very slow , too slow to game online)

Got the same problem here & customer services/tech support are everything BUT helpful & knowledgeable (I don’t mean that, what I mean is they play dumb even though they know what’s going on & what the issue is)
It’s obvious there is prime time bandwidth throttling in place which I can understand setting for people who are downloading music & films via newsgroups & P2P apps but for online gaming as well?? Considering how little data is actually transmitted it’s stupid & very annoying!!
It wouldn’t take 10mins to set up a rule that allows access to XBOX Live & PSN while NOT being applied to the bandwidth throttle.
Unless it gets sorted out very soon I will be cancelling my Orange broadband & mobile phone contract & moving on to another provider which is sad considering I have been with Orange since 1995 (mobile phone obviously)

unbelievable. using www.speedtester.BT.com this are my results at just gone 9pm.
Your DSL connection rate: 2080 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 1750 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1075 kbps
I'm having the same problems as everyone here. So much so that i am considering switching to BT as they have faster speeds at that time and they are not planning on upping the price

Do it if you have the choice.
Just got a letter in the post stating that they've increased our sub by £2... what an utter and absolute joke.
Came home from work, wanted to relax with a bit of on-line gaming, obviously I can't because on-line gaming has been completely capped. Everyone is lagging really, really badly.
I've also heard nothing but negatives about their mobile phone service as well.
A blind retarded 6 year old could run a better service.
You make me wretch with disgust Orange and worst of all, you do sweet f all about it.
