Ok, it seems like only one of them is your network so if i was you i would rename your SSID and adjust your pc's accordingly.
see url below paste in in your browser then close the gap between the o and 2 as it keeps reverting to o2 (now Sky) and breaking the link.

I changed the SSID and restarted this laptop. Now I have the new SSID showing as well as the 3 previous ones, plus another new unsecured one. My new SSID starts with a "B" and the unsecured one is the same but starting with a "C" instead! And I've now spotted an unnamed network too.

Strange things can sometimes happen if you start changing wireless settings via wireless rather than ethernet.
I only have one SSID on my Wirelessbox II and that was the original name modified by me but that was done when connected via ethernet. So I would delete any that you don't want/need.

I logged off and on again to see if that would clear things up.
Let's call the new SSID "qwerty".
I had unticked "Broadcast Network Name". This has the result of "Unnamed Network" being displayed as an option to connect to. If I tick the box and refresh the connections list, it disappears. With or without the tick, I have "qwerty" and "qwerty 2". After entering the WEP key, I can connect to either of those, swapping between them without losing my internet connection for more than a couple of seconds.

Actually, I've been changing the settings today via ethernet although some of my previous changes were via wireless.
Do I simply use "Manage Wireless Networks" to remove them permanently?
Sorry for all the questioning but you're really helping me along here.

Is this in Wirelessbox II ?......I don't have that menu option but may be because I only have one SSID
You know that you can return to default settings don't you ? This might be an option at this point because occasionally the TG585v7 does throw a wobbler
Get a paperclip and insert it into the hole at the back until all the lights go out. You can then start all over again

Ive looked everywhere for the user guide for it and can only find general support, looks like it has guest SSID facility and needs to turn em off doesn't it.
Isn't the user manual on the CD you get with the o2 (now Sky) box?

Sorry! I meant in Vista, not the box itself (which is a mkII). It lists all the connections related to the computer, plus any free Wi-Fi (such as The Cloud). So I'm hoping if I remove those unwanted connections, that they'll not show up for anyone else either.
Over all, I think I'm winning (with the help from both of you) so I'm loathe to reset just yet.

No idea how to do that, unless it's in the user manual, which I've not read cover to cover yet.

It's not on the CD but can be downloaded from here, courtesy of a link on O2User

Not sure if this helps, I googled and found this on O2Forum from last year :
Quote:
Some extra work was needed to make sure everything was running to my personal approval, though. For a start, I got rid of the ridiculous SSID and WEP key that o2 (now Sky) provide. I'd rather not have my wireless network called some random assignment of numbers and letters.
I tested everything that uses the internet. There are Three laptops in my house, one running XP and two running Vista. Both connected just fine, although the Vista machines recognised that the SSID was different from the old one, and appended the number 2 to the name. I changed it back for purely cosmetic reasons.
could be an oddity with Vista.......but why aren't there more reports
