We're almost up on our current 18 month contract (Around June time) and would like to move to a new ISP due to the bad Internet service provided to us from Orange.
Could someone list the steps I need to take in order to leave Orange and get up and running with a new ISP.
Also, do you have any recommendations for a new ISP for me to move to, upto 8mb speed will be what I want and I don't download much (apart from when I install my games from Steam) but I like the freedom of "unlimited" and I do a lot of online PC gaming (Counter-Strike). I was thinking of o2 (now Sky) but some people have said it's bad and some have said it's the best...
The recent problems experienced by o2 (now Sky) customers are nothing compared to ongoing problems experienced by Orange customers.
o2 (now Sky) said they would sort their problems and they have, most o2 (now Sky) users whether on Access (Ipstream) or LLU are now receiving a normal connection.
Plus points for o2 (now Sky) are a FREE UK-based CS/TS and a true unlimited service.
I'm on the up to 8meg Standard package, I sync at 8187kbps and my average throughput speed since 16 September is 7030kbps.
Just ask Orange for a MAC code (just say no if they try to make you an offer you can refuse) sign up online with o2 (now Sky), sit back for about 10 days then when your Orange connection drops, plug in your o2 (now Sky) router and surprise surprise you're connected
