I have recently upgraded to 8mb, after being on 1mb for a number of years. The upgrade went smoothly, however last few days my bb speed has gone from 4-6.5mb down to 0.5mb. I have done BT test and got the following;
Your DSL connection rate: 6912 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 369 kbps
I have plugged console into main socket etc. Can anyone advise as have never had any problems with bb until I upgraded. Orange confirms that I should be getting 6.5mb. At the moment in the line testing mode.
Either the IP Profile is stuck at 500kbps or there has been a noise occurrence on your line which has caused the IP Profile to re-set to 500kbps to stabilise the connection. If the latter then it will take several days of stable SNRM to re-establish a normal IP Profile.
Check you router stats and if your downstream SNRM is 12dB - 18dB then that is the probable cause.
If the Profile is stuck then Orange will need to get BT to unstick it......best of luck if this one.
