I wonder if anyone has come across this problem:
I signed up to Orange Homemax last september and all has been well until 2 weeks ago.
I noticed pages were taking longer to load and my 2nd line and uma mobile started doing the "norman collier" cutting out bit.
On running a speedtest my usual 5.1 meg has now gone down to 3.1 meg.
After a week of phoning Orange and being given the usual run around, someone let it slip that my line has been downgraded as there are now more customers on the exchange and they have to provide service for them, consequently my service has to be cut to accomodate them.
I have asked Orange to re-instate the service back to what it used to be as I now consider it to be un-useable but they point blank refuse pointing me to "sam knows" which now says my line is only capable of supporting 3.5 meg.
I'm sure this used to say around 5 meg, but they say thats all I can expect.
I have asked to be let out of my contract, again a refusal, I have asked for a reduction in the monthly payments (3/5 speed therefore 3/5 payments) also a refusal.
Where do I go now?
Little point going to the regulator as they have no teeth.

Apparently I have only just been changed over to LLU that is why my speed has decreased.
Considering that LLU was enabled before I joined last year I find this hard to believe they've only just transfered me now.
Is there anyone at Orange that can tell the truth?
The story has changed yet again:
Now they are saying that the downgrade has been done for "stability" reasons.
There never was a stability issue before they messed with it, now there is.
They are still refusing to alter the profile of the line back to what it was and they say they only have to supply a speed of 0.5 meg to keep to contract.
They are also refusing me a "deadlock" letter so I can take this further.

Orange have now restored the service to how it was, despite saying they couldn't.
I have rang them every single day since 13th Feb and insisted they restore the service.
They now maintain they havn't done anything to the line profile but according to the livebox stats its back to what it was before the "downgrade".
What a bunch of abject liars they are!
Lets see how long it stays like this for.
