I need some help! I've being going backwards and forwards with Orange for over a month now to try and sort out my problem, but i'm convinced nobody on the tech support line knows what they're doing.
Here's my problem..........
I've recently moved house and can't get connected to the net.
I'm getting a slow @ flashing sign and solid wireless sign on my livebox, so i know the signal is there and i can connect to the livebox OK. The livebox just can't connect to the net. When i access the livebox configuration page to enter my username and password i get the status 'Invalid ADSL Authentication'. I'm definately putting the right info in.
I've had 3 line checks done and the FSD (its something like FSD?) team has made some repairs to the line (apparently), but still i'm having no luck.
Now here's the twist. When we first opened the account, about 6 months ago, we were sent the wrong customers login details. We spoke to Orange about it, but were advised to use the details we were given and everything was fine. Until we moved. I've tried logging in with both the details we were sent (the wrong ones) and with the details that Orange have on their system as being right for our account, but have had no luck.
Here's what i think has happened.......our login details don't work and the customer whose details we were sent may have changed his password. I'm fairly confident that just resetting my account password will fix the problem, but i'm told that there is a problem doing this with my type of account (we have the 8mb connection). I've also asked if there is a test username and password that will work as a default for my livebox to see if it's just a password problem. But again i'm told that there is a problem doing this with my account.
I'm really stumped with this problem and have never experieced such farcical customer service (I'll spare you guys the details of what's being going back and forth over the past month) as I'm getting off of Orange.
So, thanks for reading my uber long post and any help would be great.
This is from a 2007 post of Elhana who unfortunately doesn't post on here anymore....try it.

Technically it was the wrong username. The domain is usually set for all connections to @fs but in a few, fairly rare, occasions there's a problem and one of the alternative domains gets used. Orange's sysems don't usually tell you if it's the case, it's usually found much deeper in one of BT's systems. As part of a username/password problem the alternatives should be tried through. They range from @bb.freeserve.co.uk through bb1... to bb4...
Sorry, my bad. I should've mentioned that we've tried those when on the phone with fault management. We've tried BB0-4, but not just BB on it's own. Hopefully that'll work!
One point to note where you get "Invalid ADSL authentication" - I had that and found that I had to delete everything in both boxes, validate with nothing there so it failed, reboot and then type in login and password anew. Then it validated ok. Worth a try.
Cheers for the help Bored. I'll try that when i get home tonight and see if it works. Hopefully I'll be able to post a reply calling you a genius later on!!
Now I'm really stumped. I tried what you suggested last night and the Status has changed to 'Synchronised', but I'm still not connected to the net. Has anyone got any ideas?
How do you mean? I'm using my laptop so it's a wireless connection, although i do have an ethernet cable and have tried using it, but i have the same problems.
