I don't think it's possible... The only way you could do it is have it attached to a computer and share it when it's turned on... As their is no way of assigning an IP Address to the HDD to access the files. Typing in the routers IP Address would simply access the routers firmware...

azasmith is correct. Unless the hard drive has an ethernet port, it is not possible without having it connected to a PC.

People have only got the USB port on the livebox 1.1 to work with printers or used for firmware recovery.
