Its all getting a bit confusing now - I have a Wanadoo email address - so use a different format email address to login than fsnet, orange, freeserve , etc named users - ARGGGGGGGG
It all works - again BUT, and this is a big but, it now identifies you to the recipient by your mobile phone number
e.g. your email shows as 07*********@orange.net instead of name.name@orange.net
At least that's what happens if you only use Orange.net
Talk about protecting security - this is giving more info to the recipient than you may want.
If you try to use the website to change the number to your name it says you already have that alias.
Doh!
Further to my previous of this, I complained about this and they're having a real difficulty trying to change mine back to the <firstname.lastname@orange.net> - I can't believe its not a 2 minute job for someone in their technical department to change it, but they reckon its going to take a week to sort out!!!
Well, after 3 weeks, two engineers, several discussions with the Executive Office, they've finally manually sorted this so it sends as <firstname.lastname@orange.net> again.
If you have this problem, report it to the Executive Office, because otherwise it just gets passed around the techie team and customer services without anything happening.
But to be told by the very nice Indian guy that I have a problem with my email client - Ummmmm No Thanks
never had the pleasure of indian guy only a indian woman who was surprisingly helpful and i have rung them a lot, so much so they stopped answering my calls i once waited 5 hours or more on hold ...just tell them what you want to know and they will tell you ...the evening shift seem most clued up ..if you aint satisfied ask for level 2 after that if no joy ask for the boss
good luck
why should I speak to the boss, he must be as clueless as the staff if he cannot make sure they are trained to fix a problem!! Orange and their owners, France Télécom are the biggest joke in the world of mobile phones - I moved to T-mobile, these guys know what they are doing!!!
