<Livebox Issues? ~ Cannot connect to wireless through livebox using the WEP key

Hello.. I am a girl who knows nothing about computers and am going INSANE trying to connect my new laptop to wireless.
We have 2 other computers in the house using the wireless.. I have the correct WEP key which I have used before on the other computers in the house so I know i am entering it correctly.. but it won't connect. It doesn't even come up with a message saying it can't connect it just refreshes the wireless network page.
I've been trying to connect for days and desperately need help!! I can connect to other networks but the livebox at my house just won't connect.

You pressed button 1 on the livebox to put it in pairing mode ?
There aren't any buttons on my livebox? Surely it's in pairing mode already if there are 2 other computers connected? Apparently it should be able to connect 8 computers ...

The 'normal' livebox has secondary security in that you have 10 minutes to make a connection after pressing button 1, after 10 minutes it switches itself off again. Once paired they stay paired. It stops neighbours hacking your network or draining your bandwidth if they manage to crack the encryption. (WEP is notoriously insecure, WPA is completely/almost completely secure depending on who you believe)
