There is so much negative press over Orange I thought I would take the opportunity to praise Orange Broadband.
I have been with them now since Freeserve days and I have to say I think the service is brilliant! Even more so since Orange took over and as I have an Orange mobile and they could be linked together I am paying the absolutely rediculous amount of £5 per month for my service. I have absolutely no problems or issues with the service as long as you accept that it is what it is..............broadband. Its never been down, slow or anything. I use it nearly every day for work and absolutely no complaints. Its by far a more superior service compaired to BT which I use regularly when visiting either my headoffice or friends. BT Service is absolutly CRAP in comparision! WELL DONE Orange!!!
If there is one negative its the customer service. CRAP! Not UK based SHAME! But isnt every companies customer service depts crap especially if they are based outside of the UK. But when on the rare occaisions you do get a UK based person they are normally very very good and helpful.
It's nice to see one person being able to voice the praise of a company.
You see, the problem Orange suffers is they have poor customer service and that is seen and voiced a lot by people because of the size of the company.
The statistics do show a point of concern for Orange, but they will come through as others before them have.
Orange are unfortunate because the ones who shout and rant about them happen to be those who have problems. BT, 02 etc. have these customers too they are just fortunate at the present time not to have problems, but the moment they do expect to see OFCOM complaints, forums and Watchdog inquests
People will rant about the call centres in India but cost cutting isn't the soul reasoning behind them, it is that people in the UK don't want such jobs, listening to a whining customer for 2 hours about losing their internet connection for a day, all for a call centre salary. You'd have to be mad to want to do such an insane job unless of course, money isn't a factor in ones job, then perhaps it would be fun to listen to Mr 1 day offline and his screaming wife and 3 crying kids
Things will change soon enough, those who have been scorned won't return but the screaming and Watchdog inquests will die a death of the past. Orange are too large, too successful to let a few trivial bad forum posts and OFCOM slaps to make them fold.
Who knows, if they bring jobs to the UK to help this government get people back to work, a few of you on here might just take up the fun job
I agree, its good to hear that some people are happy with the service that Orange provides.
After the whole watchdog episode Orange are very much aware of poor customer service and broadband issues. I expect that there will be a major overhaul soon, I heard somewhere that they are planning to bring their call centres back to the UK for a start.
On the broadband front they have stopped actively advertising the service while they iron out all of the major faults, which seems to be working as this forum is reasonably quiet!
Lets hope that they continue to improve their service and support through 2009.
