Yeah it seems to be blocked. That's a good hint from Kaleef though.
Not happy with being censored at all though. Who do they think they are to allow or disallow access to a website? If this keeps up I'm going elsewhere. Would actually prefer they disconnected me so I don't have to pay the rest of my contract. There's ISP's who don't resort to these tactics and they deserve my money more than Orange, assuming this is what they're doing.
Ugo I could not agree more ... but you know that's not all and this is below the belt !! even my favorite adult site is not accessible with Orange, yet there is no problem via a proxy or connecting to the vodaphone@home local hot-spot, the point being a different ISP.
makes me wonder what else is banned by Orange Big Brother
this has all happened very recently yet no word of warning from Orange and even less the opportunity of being offered to cancel our contracts.
A word of warning to Orange, reverse this move because when your customers get wind of this forced censorship you will loose money and no company is so big that it can allow its funding to go to competitors.
of course it just be their having dns look-up problems
Still no access to piratebay. Emailing back and forth to customer services all weekend. I asked them if it was blocked and they didn't answer one way or the other. Hopefully they get it fixed soon.
Are Orange scared of being forced to reveal downloaders' IP addresses and identities? What they are missing is that P2P sites are sharing plenty of legitimate files as well as those where there may be illegally-shared ones. ISPs taking it upon themselves to become censors? Hmmm... When does OrangeProblems become a banned site?
I received a letter from Orange and BPI about a download and assumed they were blocking TPB only to me
that kind of thing can be avoided if you run peergaudian2 before you run your downloading client, its a p2p ip blocker which filters out those nasty people who would like to trace what you are downloading.
nothings perfect, but is does block over 10 million uncool ip addresses.
its looking like the problem is not in Orange content filtering but in an arm of their servers not working properly, typically Orange is so big now that they really don't know their arse from their elbow! this is the real problem.
It doesn't seem they're blocking it as some customers in the UK can still access the site. Have a read for yourselves in the comments section. Still a lot of unhappy people though:

Was running peer guardian2 but it didn't appear to work.
Anyway, if I have a CD which is damaged but I still have it in my posession then am I right in thinking that I can LEGALLY download it from internet as I hold the hard copy.
If this is so then how can my ISP decide what is legal and what is not?
After not having any bad problems with Orange (apart from one week without www) I'm considering changing providers to one less like a BULLYING BIG BROTHER.
Hey Hey! its all good again ... if anythings been learnt over all of this, its that if Orange try to restrict peoples freedom then they should consider if they can afford to first.
