Hi,
My BT line has a very highbackground hiss/white noise from the ADSL line, so much so that it makes conversation difficult at times on low volume calls. A line filter/splitter is used on the phone socket and reduces the noise somewhat but not down to an acceptable level. There are Three other paralleled phones on the same BT line each with a filter/splitter.
Any suggestions for what might be causing this? Orange have suggested disconnecting all the parallel wiring from the Master socket and see if there is an faulty phone/wiring/splitter that could be causing the problem. Sound approach? Comments would be appreciated.
The best way is to plug in modem/livebox to a filter and a single phone into the filter too, disconnect everything else from the phone line, check what it's like. Try each phone in turn to make sure it's not one of them, swap filters over to make sure a filter isn't faulty too.
...or maybe you've got one of them rubbish speedtouch Modems?
I was sent one of them in the vain hope it may help with my disconnection ..er I meant upgrade... now well into it's 4th week.
All other hardware I have (old usb modem and 2 routers) don't make a peep... plug in the speedtouch and

they are trying to fob me off with a livebox saying this wil fix things, but going back to the many posts by others... Orange simply don't listen...
When you have 'No dial Tone' changing the box won't fix anything....
I feel like some poor soul who just got his car back from the garage, where they have replaced a good working petrol engine with a non-working diesel engine. When I ask them to fix it, they offer me a lollipop
