Hi I know there are millions of these on here but I can hope that there might be someone out there who can help!! And make me VERY happy!
I am in France and have an Orange livebox which works fine wired and used to work fine as WiFi. However a few weeks back I got an alert screen saying that Orange were doing a software update, and ever since then I haven't been able to connect WiFi. There laptop is picking up the box, asking me for the key etc which I put in and then is says all the usual about addresses but it never gets connected! I just don't know what I am doing wrong! Unfortunately the box is one one the 1st generations ones and doesn't have the nice handy 'number 1' buttons like the new ones have. Anyone out there who can help!?!?

Hi Emily, I have only just found this forum, but if yu are still having problems I will try to help?
What make Livebox do you have? Inventel or the other one, the name slips my mind at the moment...
If you have the other one the pairing button is on the underside of the Livebox, but apart from that they are almost the same. If you are not useing the pairing button then the Livebox will just not see any wifi kit!
Hey thanks for your help, I am pretty sure that it is the invetel one. I just wanted to check on the bottom of the box there is a small black button near the power cable and a small black button near the phone cable!!!! I didn't want to go pressing any old button and messing up the wired connection, do you know which one it would be?? Thank you for your help, computers seem to hate me!

You are welacome. I hope that I can help??
I don't think it is Inventel ecause they have the 1 & 2 buttons on the back with a USB socket directly below.
That doesn't matter though. The buttons underneath. One is for the light and the other for the pairing so which ever one you press you won't loose your ethernet connection. If I remember from a friends box it is the one near the phone connecter. Press it and the very end light on the top should start to flash about once/second and should do so for about 10 minutes.
If you go through the proceedure of re-entering the WEP key it should connect for you. If it doesn't then try again, but make sure that the pairing light is still flashing. If it still fails and you can try another wifi machine that will tell you if it is the Livebox or your laptop that is at fault.
