Since yesterday I have noticed that I am having really patchy internet connection. Even though my internet seems to 'think' it is connected, I cannot access my usual sites (Hotmail, etc). I can only access this site, Google and probably a few others I have not tried.
It's very frustrating.
If I were to move my ISP, who is reccomended? Can you guys tell me who you have had good experiences with? I'm really SICK of Orange and it's faulty broadband service!!
If you can access certain sites and not others then it isn't necessarily solely Orange's fault.......but they may have altered something to cause your settings to not function as they did.
What supply are you on Max, standard LLU or ADSL2+ LLU ?

Unfortunately I'm really not technically literate, so I really don't know.
All I do know is that it worked fine on September 30th, then it started to go a bit weird on the 1st of October (Ocassional cut out, but still able to access all sites) and then today it's been really limited since I woke up at about 9am.
It's frustrating because I don't really know what the problem is...
I wouldn't worry. just been on to Orange support for an age and there is a server problem. Apparently the problem is "widespread" within Orange and there will be limited internet access for the forseeable future for those unfortunately connecting via this sever. There was no estimate of how long the problem could last for.

I'm sorry to hear your pain (about having to talk to those organ grinders) but thanks for imparting that knowledge, I felt like the service had gotten worse over the past day with no real reason. I like how the Status page never seems to confess to these little woes.. Probably so that we'll all suffer on the end of the phone!
I'll bet you've been switched from the standard LLU over to ADSL2+ LLU.
Leave it for a couple of days to see if it settles down. Noise Margin is a little high and Attenuation looks strangely low....you don't live in your local phone exchange do you ?.....I won't even comment on the Attainable download rate
Thanks for all your help and advice, eventually the net started to work fine once more (Must have been a freaky hour.) Orange is better than it used to be, but I still find their Tech support infuriating and as a company they're fairly useless.
That'd be much better off with people like you there who can _really_ help.
