If you are (and are on an 8mb package with an ISP, not just Orange), I'd love to know your speed.
I'm trapped in a cycle of lies where different people at Orange tell me different things. The web of lies and contradictions has made it clear - positively 100% clear - that Orange have a deliberate, set in stone policy of lying to their customers. They're just not very good at it.
I'm currently stuck at 1mb but my account is regularly reduced to 250-500k for weeks at a time. I'm a frequent user but not downloading torrents etc.
I had up to 2mb for months (poor but I could cope), but suddenly Orange started telling me the maximum my line can hold is 1mb, despite the fact I had 2mb for months and have been told by various people at Orange that my line can support 2mb.
Then I had 5mb for a few days, before being bashed back down to 500k. I rang Orange (for the umpteenth time) and spoke to an engineer who said "If your line can support 5mb steadily for 3 days, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to receive that all the time."
However, now I'm back to 1mb and suddenly Orange are telling me that's the maximum my line can take. Even though it's crystal clear to everyone - both them and me - that they're not telling me the truth.
I'm at my wits end with this nasty, vile, disgusting company. So what's your speed on the Golders Green exchange (you might be using it if you live in the surrounding areas).
