What is happening quite a few dropping to 0.5 after fairly good connections and Orange claiming that is the best they can get on their line. Seem quite happy to give out MAC code.
It seems to becoming a common thread on the forums that Orange are reducing connections speeds.
It's not clear if it relates just to the exchanges upgraded to ADSL2+ but there is a trend.
If it is correct, then I can't understand the strategy, because as you said they do not seem reluctant to issue MAC codes. I got mine direct from Executive Office after only hinting at perhaps requesting one.
Perhaps Orange are on the way out like equally large important enterprises that have recently suffered.

the speed has been regraded to create a more stable connection due to an issue at your local BT exchange. This issue could be caused by traffic, the internal wiring or general condition of the exchange
is an absolute classic.....blame anybody except yourself.....forgetting it's their LLU equipment that's in the exchange

My speed has always fluctuated depending on the time of day, but recently it's started to get really slow at peak times - below 1MB regularly, compared with 6MB during off peak times, which also seem to be reducing in length!

Sorry I wasn't clear......I'm not referring to speed fluctuations, this is a deliberate upward manipulation of SNRM by Orange to slow the connection speed down permanently and not a temporary throttling of speed at certain times.
