From the stats you have posted in this thread, the only problem is that Orange have upgraded your exchange to ADSL2+ and it's been a little unstable subsequently, but it should settle down.
Your SNRM on ADSL2+ goes from 10.1 to 15.8 and this causes your downstream speed to fluctuate, the nearer it is to 10 the better.
Also from your first stats post, it looks like you were possibly on a Max connection prior to ADSL2+ so you may need to change your MTU+RWIN settings (see menu link to the left).
beleive me bored now am not, i have been doing this type f work for 4 years with aover 5000 hours laise time with BT wholesale regarding all this typoes of issues accross ALL networks and network Types,
Dave go into the test socket if it the line the problem wll remain if it solves it is something with ur set up.
I agree with the test socket advice but can you explain the change of connection mode from "G.DMT" to "ADSL2+".
We all experience drop-outs but when Orange change anything the incidents increase considerably. When they commenced the ADSL2+ upgrade certain exchanges changed over seamlessly, others, like mine, have still not recovered (since 16 April).
I am presuming from your posts you have an employment connection to Orange, either directly or a sub-contractor.....can you confirm ?
That first post I put in with the connection mode as G.DMT wasn't a result of upgrading to ADSL or ADSL2+ that was just one example of the problems I have been having. I have been on ADSL2+ supposedly for the past 12 months, every thing was alright until about 6 months ago when this first started.
I have had the live box plugged into the main BT socket for 3 DAYS without a problem then first thing Monday morning connection starts dropping again.
I have had the live box plugged in the same extension socket for 2 months without 1 lost connection then 4 weeks ago the same problems started again.
I have had a friend who was a BT engineer (now works for himself) come and check the cabling in the house and he can't find a thing wrong with it.
It has now been stable for the past hour

This morning it has been off 12 times, that has been since 6.30 AM, some times I only get about 10 minutes then connection drops, but when it does drop it is back on within 1 minute, another time I can get up to 40 minutes before losing a connection.
What I have noticed is that when I lose the connection the info in the Live Box for the ADSL Status says PPP IN PROGRESS, followed by
PPP SERVER DOWN.
I have even thought it could be something to do with the land line ringing and some one picking up the phone but that has no effect at all.

OK, it wasn't clear that you'd been on ADSL2+ that long ( wasn't aware Orange had started the upgrading 12 months ago )
"PPP server down" indicates the connection from your local exchange to Orange servers has failed. Haven't seen that dreaded phrase on these pages for several months. So not a lot you can do, but a lot that Orange can do also this confirms your ex-BT friend is correct.
the_tech_guy, I can assure you that as far as a virus, spyware or any thing else is concerned I have been over that time and time again.
These stats below are what I am currently getting with the Live box and best part is I have now been connected the best part of 2 days without a drop out.
I will admit that trying to get Orange to do some thing did take some time and at times I felt like telling them to stuff their Broadband, but at least they have done some thing in the end.
The staff at Orange in GB can be helpful WHEN PUSHED, but please take note, if you say you will phone back please do it, even if it's only to say we are still working on the problem.

They came up with various reasons why my connection kept dropping out but not a definite one.
Well it seems ages since I last posted but only a couple of weeks have gone by, latest update, ORANGE SUCKS.
I was sent a Siemens router to replace the Live Box only I couldn't connect to any thing unless it was hard wired to the p/c, wouldn't accept code number over wire less, to solve that problem would have cost me 50pence a minute, no way.
When I was having the problem with connection issues a very nice man at customer services talked me out of leaving Orange, I didn't ask for it but was told that because of the problems I was having, they would half my line rental for six months, fair enough, at the time I thought very nice.
Just got latest bill, no drop in charge, phoned customer services and was told hard luck, computer says NO reduction in charge.
Still got Siemens router even though I was told some one would phone to arrange return of it, Three weeks ago.(sounds familiar)
Still get drop in connection only now it's every 3rd-4th day which isn't a big deal just a bit annoying, but what is really xxxxxxxx is the fact that the person I spoke to no longer works for them, so any agreement he spoke to me about is null and void.
I have been with Orange since it was Freeserve over 9 years now and the level of customer service in that time has dropped to such a low I wonder how they keep any customers at all, don't they realise that when they say we will "PHONE YOU", that is what people expect.
I am now phoning them for the last time to ask for a MAC code and this time I will get it.
DaveT - Best thing you can do is ask for MAC - I spent 6 months chasing promised credit for £20 - probably spent £20 on phone calls b4 I got it!!!
Following yet another problem involving the 2nd line and abortive phone calls, I emailed for a MAC and 6 days later got one (only had 19 days left to use - work that one out!) I've now used it and migrated yesterday. All thats left now is the final invoice !!!!!!!

Phoned for MAC code and it should arrive in next few days, why is it that the only time you can talk to some one with any sense is when you ask for a MAC code.
Again offered a different deal to stay but this time turned it down.
ORANGE if you read these post take a word of advice, I don't want DEALS I just wanted a stable connection and when promised that you would get in touch that is what I expected.
Maybe I am being stupid to think that an organization such as Orange might be concerned about the people who are the reason for their success, sometimes being offered half price broadband or so many months free just doesn't work any more.
May be my next ISP may be no better but at least it will be my fault.
