Everyone who leaves Orange and goes to a real ISP immediatley gets a dramatic speed increase with a stable connection when they go to a decent one.
Proof yet again that Orange lie about maximum line speeds etc.
I have no trouble with the speeds - around 6mb from an 8mb connection isn't too bad as I'm a few miles from the exchange here in Liverpool (and they do say "up to").
What does annoy me is the constant dropping of the service (cannot find page/server etc).
It only started a few weeks ago and it's annoying when connected to a site and it disconnects and you can't reconnect until your previous session times out.
It usually only lasts for a few minutes but it keeps doing it. I'm lucky to get an uninterrupted couple of hours.
Same thing happens when downloading mail and Orange think you are still connected and the mailbox is "locked" until it times out.
Trivial maybe but annoying none the less.
If their servers are that poor, one would think they would try others.
