I started to install the wired Livebox and inserted the disc. Everything was fine until it started to install the software. After installing the taskbar it said that it was unable to complete the set up because there were programs open. I shut down all of the programs and tried again but the same message came up. I then tried to continue and it asked for my password and user name, but the said it was not recognised, even though I had been a customer of Wanadoo for over a year.
When I phoned up customer support (after holding on for ages) they couldn't explain why it wouldnt install properly and asked me to set up a wireless connection. I did but the same error came up and then when I tired to connect it said Firewall was open on the computer and it couldnt connect.
Ignore the software. Plug in the ethernet cable, in IE open 192.168.1.1, click the link, default UN/PW for access is "admin" for both. Go into Services, Internet Connection and put your full username and password in, click Validate and it should come back connected, solid @ light indicating it's done and ready to go.
I phoned customer support last night and it now works. My mistake was typing the WPA key with spaces (I was following the exact code as it appeared on the box).

Just registered to say thanks for that info. I tried to install the software and after about 2 minutes the NEXT button stopped responding every time I tried it. Tried everything, even called the support line and they said I needed a new CD. So I was about to give up when I found this post.
So now I have a working Livebox thanks to this post.
It's usually the newer agents you speak to who will stick like glue to using the CD.
All the CD does for a wired connection is to give you a handy link to the config pages, install the recovery software and simplify setting the username and password.
If any problems crop up with it then it's far easier to forget the software check the windows settings needed and then just manually log into the config to set the username and password.
Too many hours have been spent on this.. anyone who can help will go to heaven. My wired connection is fine. My wireless says connected but internet is saying page cannot be displayed.
When I try loading the Orange cd and click hook up wireless connection i do not get to the password entering stage, it tells me poss cause may be firewall - however all windows and livebox firewall is off. i think it must be something else.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop with internal wireless - it works fine picking up other wireless connections!! Please, please advise..
