Please could someone confirm exactly what format a MAC code should take when given from Orange eg. sequence of letters/numbers and total number of characters?
Thanks,

Well, I seem to have been given a slightly different variation to others! I'm getting a bit nervous as to whether Orange have given me the correct format now.
I was given the following, verbally, Three days ago:-
XXXXZZZZZZZ/XXZZXX
(Using X in place of a letter, and Z in place of a number).
I have since passed this onto another ISP, and they have accepted it no problem. I am therefore assuming (perhaps I shouldn't!) that everything is going through ok in time for my activation next week. Should I be worried now, I wonder???!!!

Cheers for that! I'm feeling much better now! I'm thinking I must be one of the lucky ones to escape - just don't want to get my hopes high in case something goes horribly wrong. I just know that there'll be a glitch somewhere down the line - like when Orange continue to take money from my account, for example.....
[quote="stevelondon"]It must be ok, if it wasn't valid they wouldn't have been able to give you an activation date.
Thanks for the advice. Why do you specify not to cancel DD not until after activation to new provider? Is this because Orange could throw a spanner in the works and prevent activation?!!!

Yes exactly, once your line has been taking over by your new provider Orange cannot do anything about, if you don't cancel it they will continue to take money out of your account. if you owe them anything they will most certainly contact you to arrange paying what you owe.
Its a shame they don't do that when they say they are going to when you have a problem lol
