I use XP operating system and Office 2007 Ultimate, using Outlook. For at least six months I have had numerous problems, to many to detail, in sending and receiving emails. For the last four days I have been trying to find a solution to a very slow response to hitting send/receive, then send working but receive failing with error 0x8004210e. Repeated clicking of send/receive would often eventually produce a full S/R. I have tried all the possible solutions found on many forums, except uninstalling Outlook, all without sucess. I have not wasted money on phoning Orange Help after previous experiences with this expensive joke organisation.
In desperation I decided to access my Orange webmail account for the first time, as a possible stand-by that may be usable when my email failed completely. When I accessed it I found 9,680 spam emails in the Inbox. About half the maximum capacity was used. I decided to delete these emails and cleared the deleted items folder to clean the account. After this I went back to my Outlook 2007 email, and surprise surprise it works perfectly!!! I don't know why this worked as i'm a 'silver surfer' not computer literate. To everyone with similar email problems if you have not done so, check and clear your Orange Webmail account, it may work for you to. Best wishes to all.
Well done! Your suggestion worked. After weeks of problems both sending and receiving emails I tried your suggestion and found 42meg of emails at Orange webmail.
After deleting all emails and then the deleted emails folder my email now works fine.
