I'm paying for upto 8mb broadband like most of the people on here but i'm connected at 450kbps and download speeds of 12kbps.. wow i phoned Orange and like most posts explain there customer service team must have been trained in asda because they know nothing about IT. after arguing with them for almost an hour within 24 hours the speed went upto 4mb for 2 days now it's back to 450kbps and disconnecting every hour..
what must you do to get a decent internet connection as this is day light robbery you dont pay 8 quid to watch a film at the cinema and only get shown half the film.. so why get crap broadband?
Is there any forms to complain as i refuse to pay my bill until this is fixed.
The first time I complained about my speed it went up straight away, not by much, but there was a definate change straight after. I have been checking my speed on www.thinkbroadband.com the whole time and when I complained I suddenly got a new conection on think broadband asif I'd set up a new acount with them but i hadn't, I now get between 3.5 and 4.0mb.
It's like you have be a broadband/computer/IT super boffin' to sort anything out.
I think if you are getting those kind of download speeds ie 1mb or less you are well within your rights to stop direct debits, it might be the only way of getting any results, Im seriously thinking of droping back down to 2mb and saving some money. Why pay extra to go above 2mb when it isn't actually happening?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought long and hard about which package to go for before I signed up to 'homeneverbeenmax' but didn't have a clue how rubbish Orange were, I think they should have to supply some information about the EXACT SPEEDS they can provide in your area, and if it's above 2mb and your happy to pay for it then fine, but if you are wanting to download large files then at least you have a choice.
I really hope Orange are monitoring this site, it sounds funny but it's probably keeping people with them as the likes of Elhana continue to sort problems for people.
Oh well, i'm off to prepare for a line test phone call for which I have to have a wired connection, kinda defeats the object of wireless adapters doesn't it?
