After writing a letter to Wanadoo explaining my problems with their service and customer services i recieved a letter from a Mr Nick Baker apologising for their level of service and as a gesture of goodwill they have closed my account and refunded me £53.97 without prejudice and in full,
The only thing that is that i have to wait till 10 days after my next billing date.
Im free from Wanadont and wont go back to them even if they paid me.
I finally freed myself 2, the last straw was cutting me off for 1month and not doing anything to fix it.
I am using BT, the Home Hub is great, and I have used Netgear Rangemax routers for my Wanadoo (The Livebox is useless, I had 5, 1 exploded internally).
I even got a letter, and rang Orange who confirm my account is closed and I will be charged no further (However I have heard that before)

Did you know the BT Home Hub is a Livebox in a different case? They're practically identical in terms of hardware.

Even though i'm free from wanadoo and now with BT Wanadoo/orange are still debiting my credit card (quel suprise!)
What's the process for stopping this and can I get the monies from the last 2 months refunded by my CC company?
Nick
It's certainly no surprise to me
I was promised my refund again and again by Orange. It only got sorted out after I wrote to them, copied to my credit card company, stating that I revoked their continual authority and that any further debits would be considered unauthorized. I also said that if they did not refund the money owed then I would be attempting a chargeback and if that was unsuccessful then I would be suing via the small claims track.
My credit card company also contacted them and it was probably that which forced the refund.
The credit card company replied to my letter by return of mail; Orange took ages to reply even though I'd included a pre-paid envelope. They didn't even address my points.
So, get your CC company onside and threaten legal action. IME it's the only way to get your money back. Do not believe Orange's promises of refunds. Don't be scared of suing them, despite the bluster of some of their bods on this forum about their big scary legal team. The small claims track is designed to make things easy for "small people".
Got cable installed today.
Had to phone to get the net activated.
Phoned Orange and got it switched off no problems.
Sky weren't happy though. 6 minute queue turned into 24 minutes. Snotty cow told me there was a months notice. Just before she slammed the phone down on me she said "Ntl isn't easy to set up or reliable. Good luck."
So far it's been easy and reliable.
