I am currently contracted to the Orange 'Unlimited' broadband service, as most people know, there is a 40gb cap on this service.
I was thinking of migrating over to the Orange Home Max service, but when I asked a few of the guys in the Orange retention team about the official, or unofficial cap on this service, they informed me that there was no cap, but if a user was hammering the service 24x7, then they would take action, but other than that, they claim there is no cap, does anyone know anything different, is there an official, or unofficial cap which users must not go over ??

interesting... according to the Fair Use Policy referred to in the T&C's "...If you don't use file sharing software or download large files from the Internet it's unlikely you'll ever be affected by this policy. If you do, all we ask is that you do so considerately, perhaps by downloading outside the peak hours of 6pm to midnight".
That 'perhaps' thrown in there makes it more than a little ambiguous...any thoughts?

They don't have a stated download limit only a "Fair" Use Policy.
By doing it this way they can manipulate the upper download limit at any time for any reason they choose.
vatovey you can bet your last gig that if Orange decide you're over-downloading ("unfair" use) then your connection speed will be capped but you'll get a warning...........if you're lucky.
don't bother upgrading to max as i had a letter/warning for 63gb.
foolishly i thought unlimited was unlimited.
i chose max at http://www.broadband-finder.co...ml#compare as i needed a heavy usage package. (kids had laptops and always gaming/downloading watching films/clips/sports etc) but apparently this has a 40gb cut off limit aswell.
tried to do the right thing picking the appropriate package but this fup is a waste of time.
if you look 40gb is medium usage and can get that cheaper elsewhere.
