Please help - this is email hell and I am tearing my hair out.
For six weeks now we have not been able to access our emails via our Orange account. In the past we just entered our details on the Orange home page and were directed to our emails straight away. Now we enter our details on the home page and then are immediately redirected to another screen with a box which asks for our details again, i.e email address and password. We type in these details and click sign in and instead of being directed to our emails, our typed in details disappear, the box goes blank and we are prompted to enter our details once again. Once again we click on sign in, and once again the box goes blank.
I contacted the Orange help desk, was told this was happening and being looked into but in the meantime to use mail2web. This worked for about two weeks, and then stopped working last Thursday, and now comes up with 'you have no messages.' This is nonsence because the day before we had 400 and people are still sending emails each day.
I contacted the helpdesk again and last night a man from the Orange help desk talked me through setting up a new account via outlook express. When I did this, I had 353 unread emails.
This morning when I tried to get into outlook express, it said 'account not verified.'
I cannot now access my emails via Orange, mail2web or outlook express.
I spoke to Three different people from Orange and each person gave me different information on setting up the account. When asked for email address, one person asked me to add the address after the @ sign. One person asked me to enter the whole email address. When it came to the entry for incoming and outgoing mail, I was asked to enter different configurations of pop.orangehome.co.uk.
Any advice on how to correctly go through setting up the OE would be really helpful.

Also if you normally have that amount of email traffic DO NOT rely on webmail, download everything to your PC.[/quote]
Sorry to sound a bit fick, but what do you mean download to my PC? Do you mean download from webmail to my Orange email account? Cannot do that because cannot access Orange mail at the moment.

OK, webmail is what you sign into on the Orange site. All those emails are kept on Orange servers. You risk losing all those emails if Orange has a problem or if you leave Orange.
If you use Outlook Express or other similar email software on your PC and set it to auto download from Orange webmail to OE then it is saved on your PC hard disk and not on Orange servers, so you have ownership for the future.
