i have realsied whats wrong
on my Orange broadband
the red wire which connects from the modem to the computer doesnt fitthat well..even though i am certain its the right whole and it wont go in right, it doesn click and its abit loose. what can i do??
also is it possible to use speedtouch without the disc? can idownload it from somewhere, i have the modem just not the disc
I take it this isn't the same device on which the cable is "loose"? The fact that you're talking about a red wire makes me think it's not, but maybe I'm wrong. It's hard to be sure about your problem from what you've written, but obviously it's possible your hardware is damaged - either the computer's socket or the cable. If it's possible, it might be a good idea to take some photos and post them somewhere (Flickr, e.g.). Assuming you're describing an Ethernet cable, they are readily available if that is your problem, anyway.
However, I think I'd still want to check that you're sticking the cable in the right hole! It's not the dial-up modem socket, which is the same as a telephone jack (of course) and is a bit wider.
