I've had an adsl2+ connection for about 3 weeks now, its cured my re-syncing and ppp server down issues....
Upload speed has increased from 288 to 605 bps
I have had adsl2+ for a few weeks and although it did cure my connection problems. My actual download speeds went from 3.5mb to only 2.1mb according to the think broadband speed tester.
However I have just looked now and it says adsl2 !!!!! and my unique phone wont connect again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got an explanation from exec office that my line has "cross talk" thingy. Anyone has any idea what this means? The exec officer also couldn't explain to me but he said this is what the engineer commented.
Based on my current attainable rate of 2792 kbps, does this mean I will never get back to good old 4 meg any more? Strange that ADSL2+ doesn't give any added speed to my line

Hi Jason
If Orange havn't got the equipment for adsl2+ at the exchange it won't make the slightest differemce, its probably due to their incompetance again.

Cross Talk is where your line is getting interference from other lines, usually due to poor cable infrastructure (BT Openreaches responsibility).
Trouble is, low ADSL speeds are not normally enough of a reason for Openreach to bother to fix the fault. You've got to be suffering from interference with your telephone voice reproduction before they'll do something about it.

Thanks Colin
Does Cross Talk also include when someone dials a different number but it rings my number instead? If that's the case, I'm currently having such wrong dialing everyday!! And should this be addressed to BT Openreach, right?
Just gone onto ADSL2+ myself in the past few minutes.
Three hours ago, the phone line stopped working (still down), but broadband connection remained up. Logged the fault with BT, which says it's an exchange problem. This is what got me checking the Livebox, as I've had the dreaded 'We're making some changes....' email a few weeks ago, although the change was promised on the 18th.
Anyway without wishing to tempt fate, doesn't look too bad at the moment. Was previously syncing at 7200 down and 448 up, Noise margin 6.5, attenuation 20.
My line has been moved to ADSL2 as well....speed is the same but my ping/latency increases...it was 30ms....now it's 80ms...I gonna wait a couple of weks before complain....

Alright, I was away for a while.
Update from my last post, the fault on my line (cross talk) was fixed. I simply rang BT and it was fixed the following day. Now back and see the following (obviously Attenuation increased from 40 to 27.5 after fixing the fault)
