Hi ive fianlly got near 8mb after months of putting up with 4mb, then about a month of calls to Orange to get me back up to full speed, anyway before i was recieving 4mb down with 245k up
since my upgrade im recieving around 7mb with a 512k up. I wasnt expecting a upload speed increase, has anyone else nothiced this? i have a friend with Orange on another exhange near me, and he has a simliar uploads speeds increase in the past few weeks. can anyone shed some light on this ?
Also when i was on the phone to Orange customer care to sort my regrade, they told me that in a few weeks they would be upgrading everyone on Orange to 8mb, do u think they will be doing the upload speed as well ?
And 7Mb means that you can download at your max speed for 16 hours per month before you break Orange's Fair Use Policy. Increased speed is of little use if it isn't accompanied by a reasonable download limit...

40Gb is paltry per month, thats like 1.3Gb per day, I used to get 40 gig peak from F2s and unlimited off peak, so I downloaded what I wanted off peak. Now my speeds dropped 1.5Mb to 2Mb since this so called "speed upgrade" Orange Home Max unlimited is neither Max nor unlimited.

Well I have my MAC off them and as soon as o2 (now Sky) get their LLU sorted at my exchange on the 31st March i'm going, 10 months left in contract or not!
The direct debit will get cancelled after that! I wish I hadn't of agreed to new, cheaper contract in January, funny thing is when I was paying £2 a month extra I had no problems at all with Orange BB.
karlitofingers i had to ring loads of times, i knew i could recieve near 8mb cuz last year i was reciveing it then i had a 3 week period of PPP server is down, rang up for that and that F**KED me about saying they were going to fix it which they didnt, i had to get a m8 round and bring an old BT router he had spare, plug that in and it valided my account or somthing, from what i no (PPP server is down) is something to do with the way Orange set there routers, most ISP use PPOA or something like that.

my useage allowances, im not sure guessing its unlimted, but as ive read unlimted doesnt mean that with Orange, but i would say i dont use my full amount, i tend to use my connection from 7pm to 12pm, for internet browsing, online gaming, and then downloading, but not loads proberly 2-3gb a week
anyways BACK to my upload speed no one seems to talk about that, is everyone else getting 512k? and ive been below average for ages ?
I've just become a member tonight and have done a test via speed net which has resulted in just about speeds equal to dial up i.e. d/l 078kb/s u/l 023kb/s, yes both under a hundred. What is going on? I have had Orange 8meg for about six months and have been reasonably happy until a couple of weeks ago when the speed has seriously dropped off. I have not altered anything or moved anything - getting seriously p....d off now.
Contacted deepest India [eventually] they tell me my line has a migration tag on it ???? what is that??, I haven't asked to migrate.....I will at the end of the contract though!!! even more

I have only ever had wanadoo/orange internet at this address, first I was on 1mb, then went up to 2mb then late last year i went onto the homemax and the fastast I'm getting is 4mb, so I've never had 8mb speeds before, the next thing for me to try is a line test which I'm told I have to have a wired connection for, I'm tempted to just leave it tho rather than make it worse.
Any of you guys had any problems cured by Borange doing a line test????
