Been with them ever since the Freeserve days, and also upgraded to Broadband with them when it first came out, so no need to worry about the contract as that expired ages ago
Now, i'm on the old 512k speed (old school) and am getting tired or disconnections and server downtimes.
Do people think it would be better to migrate to a new ISP? Or perhaps upgrade to the 8meg download speed, but stay with Orange?
Staying with Orange and upgrading won't change the disconnections and server problems...will it?
And i'll lose my Orange Wednesday's 2 for 1 offer on cinema tickets aswell

For what it's worth, I'd look for a different ISP. After problems with my connection I left Orange and was rewarded with a slightly faster connection went from 512 to 1mb - still not fast but live too far from the Exchange for anything much better.
I left Orange and immediately got a speed increase that was reliable without any disconnections - ever.
There are so many people that have posted on here who leave Orange and get a speed increase with a stable connection too.
Either a good speed or stable connection are near impossible to achieve with Orange unless you're one of the very lucky few.
Leave Orange and with haste no time for sentiment coz you were freeserve customer, i quit this joke of a isp after 3months of limited and 0 connection, as for your Orange wednesdays buy a Orange pay & go sim reqester it pu tit in your phone when oyu want to go to see a film and hay presto two for one (thats what i di dand i dont have to put up with cr@p internet provider, oh if your looking FOR A GOOD RELIABLE AND PLEASENT ISP TO USE THEN I RECOMEND o2 (now Sky) IAM WITH THEM I PAY £12.50 For a twelve month contract and it has been trouble free siNce i got it.

If you have an o2 (now Sky) PAYG SIM and can top up £10 every 3 months, this will bring your monthly bill down to £7.50. If you factor in the cost of running the SIM, this is less than £11 a month

Did you leave Orange after the end of the 12 months, or could you argue that the connection was so poor that you wanted to leave earlier?
I quite like the free international call deal that Orange offer. But I am so tired of their slooooooooow connection, that I am seriously considering to leave (for 4 months, I have been around 256-512 Kbit most of the time). Does anybody know an alternative solution for free or cheap international calls?
