I got cheesed off setting up spam rules in outlook so I now use the web-mail.
No matter how many times I mark Fonetastic as spam and add it to the blocked list, I still get at least 3 a week.

I get a 1000+ spams a day to and allthough I use MailWasher Pro it still isn't the ideal solution as you will soon get fed up of all the processing it has to do to sort your spam out, especially when you switch on first thing in the morning.
Oranges Webmail and server side filters are worth looking at so email never hits your inbox. I have a filter set to move everthing to the "deleted" folder that does not contain my correct email address, that is everything before the @ as well as after. There are 2 problems associated with this:
1. If you normally receive a lot of "carbon copy" or "blind carbon copy" email it will be lost with this filter.
2. You have to remember to delete the rubbish regularly as you can soon reach the 100mb limit. At first I did report all my spam as spam using webmail but I was getting so much I got to the point of not bothering.
Regarding point 1. I contacted old freeserve sometime ago and told them that if they added 1 more filter where you could check the "envelope to" header then you could filter all the email you want including CC and BCC.
Seems to me there are only 2 real solutions for people that get thousands of spam emails.
1. Purchase a good server side filter - can anyone recommend one?
2. Start again and change your username which I am considering doing.
Regarding those that get few spam as opposed to others it really is down to your activity and length of time you have used the same address. I have had the same email address for about 8/9 years and had several websites and this was in the days before creative methods were used to defeat email address harvesters.
One thing to note about MailWasher, it is the best on the market in my opinion and is well worth paying the money for the PRO version but don't use the "bounce spam" back option as you will get more spam back!
