As mentioned in another thread, after the update I find it almost impossible to access the inventel admin pages. It takes about 3-5 minutes to load each page. I'm on a macbook pro wirelessley.
The internet connection itself is fine, i'm downloading at normal speeds, however my slingbox which is plugged into the red ethernet port cannot see the network at all. I have a network storage disc plugged into the yellow port and that's working fine.
Anyone got any suggestions
On another note, is it possible to ditch the slingbox and use a different modem/router (preferably 802.11N)
I think that this update affected my ability to connect wirelessly.
...
I then tried disabling "easy pairing mode" (which I don't think was there as an option with the old firmware) and this seems to have sorted the problem. I therefore leave this tale in case it helps anyone else!
I'm also struggling trying to get my parents laptop to connect to their livebox wirelessly after the firmware upgrade. Did you get anywhere wth your problem?

firmware version is: v5.10.7-uk
Mac OSX 10.5.2
DROOW
Ok, it's still doing it, slow loading admin pages, still kicking my slingbox off. if i unplug everythng and reconnect the slingbox works but then for no apparent reason after a while can't connect until it's all unplugged and restarted again.
Anyone got any clues at all?
if not any recommendations for a new modem/router!!

In a word, no. I only use the laptop (at home) at weekends, so I've not really tried very much. However, I think I've exhausted most obvious solutions.
It seems they've done something to mess things up; the Event viewer shows loads of Tcpip messages - "The system detected that network adapter Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN - Packet Scheduler Miniport was connected to the network, and has initiated normal operation over the network adapter." Nothing wrong there, except that the messages occur at a rate of two or Three per minute! When they stop, so does the connection with the Livebox, to all intents and purposes - although sometimes the systray icon doesn't indicate any problem (sometimes it does).
Just one slim possibility: I use Comodo Firewall, V3. I don't think it's that, but disabling it seems not to disable it fully in my experience, so - short of uninstalling - it's hard to eliminate it. I suppose your parents don't use it, do they?
hi, having the same problem, says connected wireless, but when you try to view web pages, the connection is lost, the same with the slingbox, used to work..lol.. cant even find it

Well, my problem seems to be sorted following last week's Livebox reboot; today it's been working perfectly.
That said, it initially showed a problem ("limited or no connectivity"), but this may be because the laptop had been used at work, where it connects using a proxy server. It had been logged off, and it's not normally a problem, though. Anyway, I just disabled the wireless connection, re-enabled and it connected automatically without difficulties, and the connection has remained good for several hours now.
All I can suggest to anyone having similar problems to me is the reboot, I'm afraid. That said, I did find quite a few examples of people having router / wireless card incompatibility problems when Googling the problem I was having, and I do wonder whether Orange have introduced something that's had that effect if this update?
Live box has been working fine for over a year, several laptops connected via wireless (3 MAC addresses listed in the config pages). Been away for a few days, come back and cannot connect via the wireless anymore (using wire at the moment). 2 machines would connect, 1 would not
One machine would not connect at all, one connected for a while. Read this thread and checked the SW version and they matched. Power cycled the box and none would connect. So disabled the easypairing option and both laptops connected straight away (10pm last night ish). Came down this morning and wireless link had been dropped and cannot reconnect.
Couple of observations while looking through the thread
1. Couple of the machines were new at the start of January but have never had to pair them with the livebox, they just worked
2. Notice that the pairing timeout is set to "--"
Just a question. I've NEVER had an e-mail from Freeserve / Wanadoo / Orange regarding any upgrades to Livebox. How do I get onto this list?
I only worked out that this has happened this week. I connected with my XP desktop which came up with a 'cannot connect...' message. I repaired the network, and it came up. It was only later I realised that the connection had become unsecured!
A couple of days later, first attempt after the upgrade, my daughter's Vista laptop wouldn't connect at all - the Vista realised that there was a problem with security and refused to let her connect, which tipped me to the problem above.
I came on here and read this thread, and rebooted the Livebox, and everything works fine, secured again. However, if I'd not read this thread there was nothing at all that had told me there had been an upgrade, and had my daughter's laptop not come up with error, not realised it was unsecured.
Sorted my livebox issue after a little thought, info may be useful to others.
I have five laptops on the network. Two have been paired fro a long time (> 1 year) plus Three laptops that have been working with the livebox for a couple of months without ever having to be paired (network is using security). Went away and got issues on returning in that the new laptops would not connect.
Tried removing the easypairing option which allowed them to connect but only for an hour or so and then they would not connect anymore.
Realised those laptops that had been paired were connecting ok, so checked the config and only the MAC addresses for the paried machines were listed. It appears that Orange have decided to enforce pairing again with this new firmware whereas before they may have been a way of not having to use it.
The new machines would not pair because the pairing timeout was set to "--", I am assuming this to be off but only my assumption. I reset this to 3 minutes within the livebox configuration and all is well, all laptops now paired. I have left the easypairing option set to off.
Annoying that a setup happily stable for many months is messed up by an Orange "upgrade". But hey, what do you expect
Can someone expain exactly how I get the update, ie how I get to the config screen?
Many thanks!
Access the livebox using the URL http://configuration.adsl/inde...x.html from a browser. You should get to the home page for the livebox (it has its own mini website)
Click on the link
"Access to the configuration pages (access to these pages is restricted, you must have the password)." at the bottom
Enter the username and password. Try "admin" and "admin", they are the defaults
You should now be in.
Click on "system information" on the left hand side
This gives you the system info showing you all the configuration. Other options allow you to change things, but be careful! Hope that helps

Well worth trying if you have problems with wifi.
Easypairing is enabled on mine and I have 10 mins for pairing. That said I can not see the page to change it from 10mins, perhaps because easypairing is enabled. I can see it is 10mins in Ssytem Info.
