If you go to the Orange website Member Centre and click on upgrade it eventually takes you to a screen showing details of the new half price offer. The word upgrade implies that you are an existing customer, but this half price offer does not apply to existing customers. Very misleading.

So you are saying that you have been told by Orange that you cannot upgrade to Home Starter assuming that you are currently a broadband-only customer or to Home Max assuming that you are currently a Home Starter customer taking advantage of the half price offers ?
Yes, this is the reply I got from Customer Services.
"We would like to inform you that 6 month half price Broadband offer
on Home Starter and Home Max is only available for new customers and not for the existing Broadband customers."

Don't know what the package is called, but it is £17.99 a month broadband.
You're probably on the same as me.....same since November 2004 apart from being LLU'd.
Report to your local Trading Standards Office as possible misleading advertising.
The offer should not be located in the Member Centre this infers it is available to current members.
If it was located in the main Broadband/phone page accessible to anyone then there wouldn't be a problem but they should still make it clear that it was for "brand new customers only".....but then how could it be an "upgrade" offer ?
Oh b*gger, I assumed that this offer was open to anybody too.
Condition words are:-
1. This Half Price Offer Promotion (the “Promotion”) is available to customers joining Home Starter £12 per month or Home Max £24 per month products online, via telesales and via Orange and Indirect Retail.
"customers" could mean existing as well as new
"joining Home Starter" or "joining Home Max" could apply to existing as well as new customers (and the 18 month clock starts ticking again)
Definitely worth a winge if this is not written anywhere when you sign up (or change).
While "joining" has potential to mean that to people, from the inside it sounds a lot more like a new customer joining as package changes are referred to more as regrades.
