I can send emails from outlook ok using Orange.net but not send them.
In Jan using this forum and others I found that if you entered your isp's name then it worked, i'm with Sky for braodband and so entered smtp.Sky.com and hey presto! it worked .
Now 3 weeks later without changeing any settings i'm now unable to send messages again aaaaagh!
I've tried 192.138 etc and Orange.co.uk but nothing worked
anybodt got any other suggestions apart from applying to Sky?
thanks
Sky have changed their email system to use google and in order to use the server addresses like that you need to set some option somewhere I read. You'll either need to check their support pages or contact them about it unless someone else here knows how to change it.
thanks for the info, the only combination that got me any further was leaving the incoming server set at pop.orange.net & port 110 and box unticked
Outgoing server smtp.tools.Sky.com & port 25 or 465
but when i click on "test account settings" it fails the last test of sending an e mail and says the email add is wrong, but that hasnt been changed and is still entered correctly. If I use the Orange web site direct i can sent emails no probs?

Google now run Sky email, are you trying to use a Sky or Orange email account?
By your post i assume an Orange account so you need to put in Orange pop servers port 25 unticked which you have then you need to put in Sky smtp servers and port 465 ticked which you have Make sure the My server requires authentication box is ticked.

Yes I use Sky for broadband access but have stuck with Orange for e mail since because of al the hassle of changing and telling everyone etc.
I've tried what you suggested but unfortunately it still comes up with the "unable to send email please check email address field" error message.
In the menu :email acc's , more settings, outgoing server : i've ticked the box "smtp requires authen etc. and the other box underneath marked "use same settings as incoming mail server" is ticked as well is that correct?

You also need to log into your email account on the Sky site and in settings you have to activate it to start sending from OE.
Hers a link to your smtp settings here
