For the last 3-4 days when I try to access email through www.orange.co.uk site my account always seems to say authentification failed.
i'm using user@desmak.freeserve.co.uk.
Has something changed at Orange's end or are there just email problems at the moment.
My wife has the same problem. Have you tried the helpdesk? They are not helpful and point to a microsoft problem, but I don't see how it can be. Any advice from anyone else?
i've spent a while talking to various Orange helpdesks over the weekend and they said the account is fine even though i'm unable to access via outlook + their website.
they advised me to take out an email ticket to their server team as they need to look into why account is not logging in. waiting for their response ...

when you say they "reset my wife's account" what does that mean - reset the password ? also which helpdesk did you call, as i'm willing to give this a shot.
Scottio - Every six to nine months my wife's account gets "suspended" because it was originally set up as dialup. It is a pain but we then have to phone the "helpdesk"!!!! to get the account reset. It does also depend on which "advisor" you get. If you get a negative response it is worth trying again or asking for the supervisor. I know that we shouldn't have to do this but sometimes it is the only way.

Hi, I've had to join this forum as I'm going to go crazy soon if someone doesn't help me (lol).
I've had problems signing into my emails for the past week and now I can't access them at all. Tried all the advice I've read on here and also rang Orange but they're not helping at all; the only advice I got was to restore my account!
Please can someone help before I loose it & change service provider!!

i found that firefox will not login at all it just displays a blank page and done.
Using IE7 does get me in but the log out button does not work.
Indications are that smtp servers are not functioning at the moment for a large number of users (email status is green on status page as usual but hardly surprising). I would guess their email system is currently a mess
