'Rootsweb' is well known in the family history world. It hosts free lists dedicated to surnames, countries, villages, anything which will help people pursue their family history, and get help from others. For some time, several years in fact, delivery of messages on rootsweb lists are being delayed to Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange customers. This means that answers arrive days before questions are asked! At the moment, 'we' are being bounced off lists because of apparent non-delivery. Some list webmasters will automatically resubscribe bounced members, but most don't have time as they are all volunteers. It is utterly frustrating for everyone concerned, time consuming, and NOT a decent service.
I also have the same problem in receiving messages from Rootsweb. Orange/Wanadoo/Freeserve needs to get their act together.
I have sent an email to Freeserve help desk, but so far have only had standard replies.

I would welcome comments and suggestions.
I'm very disappointed that lots of people have stopped by to read the 3 messages on this topic, but not bothered to add their mite to the 'discussion'. There must be a large number of frustrated family historians out there, but why no additional 'me too' comments?
Perhaps I should just take another pill for my continuing headache....sigh...
I am having the same problems with Rootschat too.
Instead of getting notification of postings as they happen,I get them en bloc overnight...hours later.
I booked some tickets to a sporting event last week and have had a phone call to say they've emailed me to confirm...I've not had the email though ,where DO all these emails go to?
How many more are we all missing that we don't know about?
Tuesday afternoon last week a site I'm a member of sent out an E-mail notifying me of a special one-off live chat session taking place later that evening. I didn't get the notification until Thursday!
