I've had a wannadoo livebox for the past 12 months, its worked absolutely fine, no problems at all.
Last Tuesday it lost connection to the PPP Server (No idea what this is) without me doing or changing anything. After the usual agonising email and telephone support from Orange I am no nearer getting back online.
I have treble checked my user name and password and the connection between my laptop and the livebox is 100%
I can access the web page to manage the livebox settings and where it says ADSL status next to this it states PPP Server down. I have tried to disconnect / reconnect and revalidate my user name and password. None of this works.
Line test done and they tell me there is no problem! Apparently I now need to try my old speedtouch modem to see if that works.........bored fo this now, think i may be off to BT Broadband soon.
Well 2 days ago Orange actually called me and said literally "that i had ticked all the boxes and they could now send an engineer to the exchange"!!!!!! Well they did and now it works perfectly - apaprently they adjusted the gain?!
Thanks to those that gave input and hope i wont have to post again!

That's excellent news! Well done!
Just for everyone's information, exactly how many boxes did you need to tick?!!!
Hmm wish i had coutned now. Probably took 7 - 8 calls over a period of 2/3 weeks varying in length from 3 - 40 minutes! the last 4 calls i demanded to speak with a supervisor each time, had to hold a while but work it as they seem to know what they are doing! What I had to do was roughly:
- Full uninstall/ reinstall on laptop of livebox software
- Try various system logins testing my username and password
- Full factory reset of live box at least twice
- 2 line tests
- Reinstall my speed touch modem and see if i could connect (i could)
- Was then upgraded to some sort of "action team" who sent an engineer to the exchange. If that had failed Orange said they would have sent a new box
I had the same problem since 22 July and just managed to sort it out by myself today - 29 July.
I read on the BBs that some people managed to get connected by trying another router. My old one happened to be a wireless Belkin - so I hooked it up.
At first it could not connect so I changed the authentication mode to PPPoE (as opposed to PPPoA which is for UK). This got me connected. I then changed it back to PPPoA and it still worked.
I them hooked up the Livebox and all is working.
I don't know much about this stuff but from what I have read PPP-Server Down is something to do with authentication. PPPoE and PPPoA are different types of setting for that authentication. The Livebox I think defaults to PPPoA and you cant change it. So by using PPPoE (on my Belkin) it sort of kick started something and now it works on PPPoA as well (which I think is the proper one for Europe) on both routers.
Others have successfully tried this approach using Speedtouch and other models
