I have been receiving 250+ spam e mails per day recently and no matter what I try, I cant seem to stop them coming through. I have tried all sorts of different filters both on webmail and OE and using mailwasher now. Still no better.
The problem seems to be that as soon as Orange Webmail marks the e mails with *** SPAM *** then neither OE or Mailwasher finds them in the server. This also applies to my webmail filters.
I will give you an example using a made up e mail address

Hi silverfox
There is quiete a few ways to set up Mailwasher if its set up right you have no need to do anything in OE or your webmail, Mailwasher will do it all.
How have you set yours up?
What do you mean by the spam is still coming through?
Do you mean that the emails marked ***SPAM*** do not show up in Mailwasher but when you click send/recieve in OE they download to your pc?

Well i have just logged into my old Freeserve email/webmail account and i have 2090 spam in my inbox and 12475 in my junk mail folder and 1 in deleted,
anyway every single email is spam but only the emails in the junk folder are marked ***SPAM*** the spam in the inbox isn't, so are the ones in your inbox marked ***SPAM***?

yes they are because i have asked for all junk mail to be sent to my inbox so that i can then unmark them as spam so that they will show up on mailwasher.
The problem started with hundreds of e mails going into my junk mail folder and there was no way to stop them being sent. I tried all the filters that I could but they still came through.
All of them are addressed as i said before and that is what i want to try and solve.
i know this probably doesnt make much sense to you but at the moment my brain is being fried by all this.

Ive been looking in the webmail and unless you delete all your rules there is no way of turning the filters off, but having said that ive just looked at the filters i must have set up years ago and not one rule has been followed so the filters are virually useless, the only thing i can think of that mailwasher is not showing all in your inbox on the server is because the spam is already marked so it ignores them.
Try using the option "unmark as spam" in the junk folder and move it to your inbox and see if it shows up in Mailwasher if it does then thats why, dont forget to remark it as spam.

That is what I am trying at the moment. The problem is if I open webmail and mark it as not spam and move it to my inbox then mailwasher still doesnt see it as it has already been moved from the server.
That is why whenever i get any marked as spam i unmark it and notify Orange about it in the hope that when that sender sends more spam it will not be marked as spam and therefore mailwasher will see it.
As for their filters, they are about as much use as a handbrake on a surf board. Not one of the filters I have applied work.
Thanks for all the advice and if anyone has a solution please let me know. I will also keep posting to let people know if my scheme works although knowing Orange there is about as much chance of that happening as seeing Lord Lucan riding Shergar up Pall Mall
So much for my theory. I am still getting 200+ spam e mails and mailwasher is picking up about 2 or 3.
I have asked Orange to stop classifying all my junk mail as spam but as per usual they have done SFA about it. Now I have started getting e mails from myself marked as spam.
Are these people for real.
All I am trying to do is stop a load of crap coming to me through their filters and therefore helping them and they dont even have the time to reply to me.
Sorry about the tirade but they are really getting on my t*ts
