Yep got the same problem. Cant access BT and various other sites including my own business web site. Also now not receiving my business email - both with Heart Internet.
Spent 1/2 hour on phone at 50p per min to be told it was a telephone line fault by some muppet reading from a script. Already asked for my MAC code, had enough but in the meantime dont know how we get round the problem. I have noticed I can access the sites by using a free online proxy server but not sure if these are safe enough to enter passwords to access my email boxes.
OK got the answer after searching the forum and trying several things it would appear to be a Orange dns issue. use the detila provided in this link and it should work, did for me.
Also got the same problem, has existed from yesterday.
I have both Orange and BT mail accounts. On using Orange broadband no BT mail or websites seem to be accessible.
I can on one PC drop the Orange connection (which is wireless on one telephone line) and connect to a hardwired BT broadband connection which works. ie the BT site is up and running fine..... you just cant get to it from Orange. i APPRECIATE MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT HAVE THIS LUXURY.
i WILL TRY FROM HOME TONIGHT WITH A WAITROSE BROADBAND CONNECTION.
Who is to blame BT or Orange??? If your business was totally dependant on this connection you would be miffed to say the least.
Inidently if you connect via BT to your BT mail, drop the BT broadband line it will work through Orange until it needs to go elsewhere which makes me think its some software "expert" who has dropped the ball rather than a hardware problem.
Just noticed proposed solution but will wait until tomorrow because you shouldnt need to change because of someone elsees c.ck up.
(I have always found BT better than Orange but still have both!)
