Oohh yes, loads of people......look in Orange Email Problems, you might find a solution...or two.
See my thread. i think you are having the same problems as me. i am not very good with computers so i am reluctant to go changing settings and stuff. I have tried all of the solutions Orange have suggested through their troubleshooter, and by phoning them. I am thinking it must be a problem at their end, but they won't admit it. I have two computers, both with different software, and both with the same problem. the only common denominator is Orange.
I'm getting exactly the same problem as you. Inocming email "authorising" for ages, then POP server has timed out do you want to wait, then reenter password, eventually they come through. I havent changed any settings,
Dont change settings, I'm certain it will be their end, it always is. I went through hell mid last year when they were having massive problems with send/receive.
I complete my 12 month lockin in FEb, and I'm gettting out of Orange asap
Absolute shower.
John, I tend to agree, but it is very annoying. Why do they not just admit it is a problem at their end. The technicians assure me that everything is running fine and it must be me. They have exhausted all of their suggestions, and have now advised me to reinstall outlook express and, if that doesn't work, reinstall xp. I am not going tyo do that as I do not know enough to be able to reinstall an operating system with any confidence. I have had similar problems before, but it has usually corrected itself within an hour or two. It has never taken this long. If they are having a problem, they just have to let everyone know. For a company whose business is communication, their communications are rubbish. Is this problem isolated to a particular geographic area, a few suers, or is it across their whole network.
I have the same problems which I have replied too in the other "e-mail problems" thread. Keep badgering Orange as it must, I am sure be a fault at there end.
Poolie Cliff I answered your question in the other thread.

Hi, I've been having this problem for about 2 weeks constantly, and I live in St Albans Herts, which suggests it must be national rather than local problem.
