The ppp problem is not just London - I'm in Manchester and have it - it's a serious server problem with Orange (and a third party supplier, Actuate), they're just not telling people about it...
Yes, I'm aware of the Manchester problem and I believe that there is the same problem in Birmingham.
I was just wondering if this fire was going to compound the issue.
I'm at the end of my tether now. I've lodged a complaint with the ISPA and have received the 'we're looking into it' email from Orange, but I'm not holding my breath.
I work in IT, and we have a saying - If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I just wish that Orange had left well alone. I was perfectly happy with my 2Gb connection and I didn't ask for a speed increase.
I will be leaving Orange just as soon as Sky come online. It's a shame really, after 8 years as a loyal Freeserve/Wanadoo customer, but it's their loss, not mine.
I can't see an issue like this having much of an effect on Orange's profits as they're so damn big. They are just too big to care. I'm not saying that the Orange staff who post on here don't care, they quite obviously DO care, and care A LOT - it's the suits in the boardroom who look at the figures and see X amount of customers leaving, but XXX amount of new mugs signing up and just look at the 12 months of guaranteed revenue.
I CANT TELL YOU HOW THE FIRE STARTED BUT WE HAVE HAD A MAJOR LOSS I SPOKE TO OUR FAULTS TODAY TO SEE I COULD GET EVERYONE A UPDATE BUT THEY LIKE ME JST KNOW IT WILL TAKE MTHS SOME PPL ARE GETTING BB BACK SO HOPEFULLY SO WILL ALL YOU ON HERE
