I've just had the best, most efficient, service I have ever received from Orange. A nice man phoned me this morning to tell me my account was now closed - after being 'ppp server down since dec 7th - and would I pay the outstanding balance? After explaining that nowhere in the t&cs does it say anything about £5 late payment fee, and would he make it go away, we settled on a months payment by credit card and Orange would go away - never to dorken my darstep. It's done. They've gone. O frabjious day, caloo! callay! I shall now go and open the free bottle of M&S plonk I got before christmas.

He may have been a very nice man but I would still get your account status confirmed in writing. If necessary send an email to executive.office@orange.co.uk stating your understanding of the account, quoting the "nice" man's name (I trust you did remember to ask his name after the initial shock) and request a confirmation email back.
I wouldn't trust them any further than I could throw one of their servers !

Don't hold your breath waiting for a response from executive.office@orange.co.uk as I've sent a number to them and had the well known Orange nothing back. But maybe because I've left them and they have no incentive to finally sort things out.
