Im hoping one of you may be able to help me with a major problem...
I have a D-Link DKT-710 wireless router and recently brought a new laptop with Windows Vista.
On my old laptop I had to change my MTU to 1430 using DRTCP, because without doing this websites didnt load.
After buying my new laptop I discovered DrTCP didnt work on Windows Vista so using this forum I managed to fix the problem via the command promt.
However...........
the problem now is that although websites load, download speeds are really slow. For example when I try downloading the same thing using my old laptop and my new laptop the old one will download at nearly 5 times the speed of the new one.
So i guess this must be an MTU/Vista/Wireless problem.....
What do you guys think? Any ideas as to how to fix it?
Try plugging it in on ethernet first. That way you know if it's a problem with the wireless. You may need to tweak the MTU settings for the ethernet connection seperately BTW.
