Good old Orange, when one problem ends another one pops up in your face.
I'm sure that about 10 minutes ago a middle finger popped out of my router, wasn't too sure.
Anyway, I'm an online gamer, and to play the games, you have to connect to the games server. When you try one game and it doesnt work, you think, oh their server must be down. When you try every game on the computer, including windows updates as well....and "Error Cannot connect to server" on everything, things add up.
I've done a virus scan, nothing.
Done a spyware scan, nothing
Registry Scan, Memory scan the lot.
Restarted router, reset the router, deleted all temp internet files. Nothing.
So its nothing to do with my computer, and its nothing to do with the software settings of the router.
Anyone got any ideas as to what is actually going on, what would actually stop my router connecting to servers.
Oh yeah and about 5 Disconects every day, one is actually on a schedule now, always around 6:55-7:00pm the router drops.
You can still access your router config?
Does that show as all connected?
Have you tried the OpenDNS servers? DNS problems could prevent the URL lookups needed and cause this potentially.
Can you ping external URL's and IP's?
Just a little update, around 2 hours later I could again re-connect to my games, however the problem just happened again. Router decides to reset/disconnect itself and then all servers cannot be connected to again
You can still access your router config?: Yes
Does that show as all connected?: Yes
Have you tried the OpenDNS servers? DNS problems could prevent the URL lookups needed and cause this potentially: No DNS is currently configured, and it has only recently started happening
Can you ping external URL's and IP's?: I tried a tracert of wow-europe.com. It comes up with 1 result, which is the livebox. Every other result is " * ". Usually there would be loads of results when I can connect to games.
Edit: Funny how this has happened at near enough the same time, as I tried for 30 mins to fix it yesterday before posting. I posted immediately as it happened this time.
I refer you to other can't connection threads at the moment.
I couldn't connect to a selection of websites last night aside from the odd few and it's happening again tonight. Also occurred a few days ago.
It's Orange vandalising their own systems in the name of improvement while claiming that everything is fine and dandy.
Since I'm using a livebox there's no reason why i should have to change any settings since any isp in their right minds will not adjust their system so all their own routers stop working
